Irvington DECA brings together a diverse pool of students with their shared passion for business. Through building connections, working with industry professionals, and competing with students from around the world, members have the opportunity to grow as leaders and entrepreneurs. Members of Irvington DECA have access to numerous workshops, industry-leading guest speakers, and competition-preparation resources to equip themselves with the skills and experiences required for a successful future.
Irvington DECA’s key events revolve around three conferences: District, California, and the International Career Development Conference. At these conferences, members have the opportunity to prepare written business reports and engage in role-play scenarios. Those who place highly at the California conference are invited to the International conference. In addition to this, mini conferences are held through the year to polish competitive skills for the district, state, and international conferences.

2023 - 2024
Irvington DECA experiences tremendous amounts of success and carries a reputation of being the number one DECA chapter in all of California. Our chapter has consistently improved in the years and continues to break records. Due to amazing dedication and much preparation, many of our members experience great competitive success at conferences every year. Just this year, Irvington DECA has sent 45 students to ICDC, an international conference and the largest one DECA hosts every year. At ICDC, 13 people managed to finalize, placing them within the top 20 internationally. See more here.

Students of various backgrounds in Irvington High School join Irvington DECA with a common interest in business. As the largest organization on campus, IHS DECA is a major part of the Irvington community. Chapter members share a unique bond, developed through competing at conferences together and working on projects and reports. Members often describe IHS DECA as their "second family" as many of the closest friendships are developed here. Irvington DECA is a chapter in California DECA, in the Northern California District.
Every year, IHS DECA members have the opportunity to attend several conferences to compete with other DECA members and network with business professionals. All members have the opportunity to attend the District Conference in San Ramon and the California CDC conference. Those who place highly at the California CDC conference are invited to the ICDC conference, with around 18,000 attendees to compete with DECA members all around the world. Most competitors return from conferences with not only new skills and knowledge, but also valuable friendships and a new understanding of their own capabilities. Our graduating seniors leave Irvington with the skills needed to succeed in future endeavors.
