The First Entrepreneurship Incubator Program at IHS!

Who Are We?

DECA Diamond Entrepreneurship was started with innovation, creativity, and passion in mind. At Irvington, we noticed the entrepreneurial spirit and ambition of many students and decided to start a program to foster and develop their ideas. We merged both programs to create DiamondxLoop, a group of young and innovative entrepreneurs from Irvington High School. By leveraging the specializations and abundance of resources from one of the largest clubs on campus, we were able to create Irvington High School’s very first startup incubator program!

Program Overview

Diamond Entrepreneurship is designed to teach students the ins and outs of building a startup from the ground up! Students will work with their startup teams throughout the school year (September to February) and will be guided through the process of launching a company from start to finish. While the first half of the program dives deep into topics like ideation, feasibility analysis, and how to conduct market research, by the second half of the program students will have the opportunity to create REAL prototypes for their companies and pitch their ideas at entrepreneurship competitions. Soon after the end of the incubator portion of the program ends, students will delve into the world of the online competitions of the DECA world. The competitions, lessons, and activities that will follow contain not only the key information needed to start and handle a business, but also help prepare students for the Virtual Business Challenges by Knowledge Matters.

Anyone Can Join!

The best part about Diamond Entrepreneurship is that our program is open to ALL MEMBERS who are interested in learning more about entrepreneurship and starting a business. There is no CTE requirement and the only thing you need to have is a passion for starting this new entrepreneurial journey!

Blue Ocean Competition

The Blue Ocean High School Entrepreneurship Competition is one of the most prestigious and largest pitch competitions for high school students in the world. It is a virtual entrepreneurship competition that attracts the very best high school-aged entrepreneurs from all over the world. Diamond Students worked intensively on their Blue Ocean videos and sent them to judges and industry professionals, winning $1,000 in the 2020-21 school year.
